Melbourne, Australia–Julian Uebergang, Neota Logic’s Managing Director for Asia Pacific, is speaking on “AI in Law” in Hangzhou, China this week at the 2017 Legal + Technology Summit. This Summit follows the well-attended 2016 Legal + Technology Summit last year in Beijing.
Organized by BestOne Information & Technology Co., the Legal + Technology Summit was designed to create a deeper understanding of the present and potential impact of new technological advancements on the legal service industry among leading Chinese legal practitioners. BestOne is owned by Shanghai Bestone Information&Technology Holdings Ltd., the largest legal service and information platform in China.
The speakers and participants of this two-day convention taking place 28-29 July will include approximately 300 legal experts from around the world, including chief legal officers from China’s state-owned enterprises and new technology companies, the leading professors on intellectual property rights, business transaction disputes, insurance law, etc., the lawyers and practitioners from major law firms, and the judges and officials from various levels of government. On the second day, a non-governmental, self-governing body, the “Legal + 30 People Steering Committee” will be formed to provide general guidance and leadership on issues related to law and technology. Before the event, participants can view an exhibition on 20 Years of Legal + Technology Development.
“We’re seeing a marked increase in in-house legal teams in companies and law firms globally wanting information on how to best apply AI in legal. We’re pleased to be part of this Summit, and to be able to share our knowledge on how to put AI to work in a practical sense to improve legal operations and create efficiency,” said Uebergang.
